6 Window Treatment Trends 2019

Looking for inspiration for your window treatments? Peruse these top six trends.

The window treatments of your home, that is, what you put over your windows, bear many options and benefits. From curtains to valences, and blinds to shades, the possibilities for personalization and styling are endless. To give you some ideas, here is a brief look at six of the most popular window treatment trends for 2019.

1. Sheer Curtains

Sheer curtains allow for both the natural light to shine brightly into the room while giving adequate privacy. One can choose from any color that will fit your room’s color scheme, whether it be a brighter or more neutral color. As white is also high in fashion and never goes out of style anyway, that color would also do well.

2. Remote Control

Today, one can operate blinds and shades without the nuisance of adjusting cords. Window treatment cords have incited thousands of injuries for children under six years old, and some windows are just too high to even reach. Automated blinds and shades have resolved these problems through a sleek design. You don’t even have to be in the same room to change the lighting.

3. Decals

Window decals are decorative stickers that can turn any window into a statement. These are affordable means of creating various looks while creating the desired privacy. One can choose from stained glass, fogged glass, and much more.

4. Jewel Tones

Back to curtains, shades, and more, the colors most popular this year are jewel tones. These consist of, well, jewel colors, like sapphire, amethyst, emerald, and more. Pair these tones with metallic accents, and the look is complete. These colors can work well with several different styles, whether more traditional or more eccentric or modern.

5. Floor-to-Ceiling Curtains

If you want a simple, practical, and dramatic look, look no further than floor-to-ceiling curtains. Instead of hanging the curtains at the top of the window, place the curtain rod at the top of the wall before it meets the ceiling. Placing the curtains there leads the eye up to the top, and makes the room feel like it is taller. The more you can lead the eye from the very bottom of the room to the very top, the more you will make of its full height. Floor-to-ceiling curtains make good use of this principle through very simple means.

6. Bold Patterns

This may harken back to the 1970s, yet bold patterns can give the room an unexpected yet altogether pleasing pop. Bold patterned curtains can be a great way to create variety and add vibrancy to a room.
